A former Dallas Cowboys player was found to have a degenerative brain disease. Marshawn Kneeland, a former defensive end, had Stage 1 chronic traumatic encephalopathy, or CTE, when he died. The diagnosis was made after a post-mortem analysis of his brain tissue.
